PALIO DI SAN RANIERI HISTORICAL REGATTA
On 17 June for the feast of the Patron Saint San Ranieri there is the historical regatta: four boats, representing the most ancient districts "Santa Maria, San Francesco, San Martino and Antonio santâ dispute over the waters of the Arno, legacy the prestigious tradition of Pisa the maritime Republic.
Saturday 27 June the traditional game of bridge of tuition, in two distinct phases but just as significant: the historic procession along the River with over seven hundred participants (from 19.00), and the battle takes place at night on the Ponte di Mezzo, where teams of city rival factions belonging to the two districts (North and South) give proof of their physical strength pushing in opposite directions a heavy cart in an atmosphere of intense competitiveness.
